We do not do 5-star safaris, and yet you should not give up comfort.

In the morning we get out of bed early. After an extensive breakfast we get into our safari jeep. The animals are more active early in the morning than later in the midday heat. A lunch box and enough water and soft drinks are always ready in the cool box of the car.

During the day, take pictures of yawning lions, migrating elephants, grazing zebras, buffalos and wildebeests, hunting hyenas, cheetahs, sleeping leopards or elegant giraffes and much more. Of course, the Big5 (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard) must not be missing.

We drive through open savannahs, umbrella acacia and baobab trees, which are so typical for this African landscape. Suddenly, in the shade of a tree, we find a lion family with frolicking cups, cuddling with their mother from time to time. For hours we can linger and take pictures. This is pure deceleration. It never gets boring. Dangerous also not. Later we drive through thousands of wildebeest and zebra herds. The big migration of the Serengeti is where the tourists are. Or is it the other way round?

In the evening we are in mobile but comfortable tent lodges or fixed safari lodges. A shower is of course always there to freshen up after a dusty day in the savannah. Then follows a multi-course excellent dinner. Maybe a glass of wine? Nothing is missing. The local employees are very open and friendly people. They read every wish from your eyes. And after a few days they become friends.
